1st is <b>Cory Aquino</b> and her allies. Their family is the major beneficiaries of all Government Owned one of those are the <b>Philippine Air Lines</b> or <b>PAL </b>she approved in January 1992 the sale of 67% of the stocks of the 
Philippine Air Lines (PAL) to an investment group headed by her 
relatives, composed of one of her Tanjuatco nephews and three of her 
Cojuangco nephews. The sale resulted in a loss of USD 300-million plus 
for the Filipino people. The Philippine government, through the 
Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), owned the shares. And worse,
 her nephews did not even have the money to pay for the airline stocks. 
They borrowed the money that they used to pay the GSIS from three 
Philippine government-owned banks, even using the PAL stocks as 
collateral. “The PAL Scandal,” where Cory authorized in 1992 the sale of the PAL 
Building in San Francisco, California. It resulted, according to the 
column of the late journalist Louie Beltran, into a USD 6-million loss 
to the national airline. Cory did not charge Mr. Beltran with libel on 
this issue about the PAL Building. She, however, did file a libel case 
against Mr. Beltran and his publisher, Maximo V. Soliven on a separate 
issue, when Beltran wrote that Mrs. Aquino “hid under her bed during a 
coup d’etat attempt at the presidential palace in Manila”. And the assets of the Marcoses, the Romualdezes and their cronies were 
supposed to have been sequestered by the new Aquino administration, but 
Kokoy Romualdez’s (Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s brother in law) 38 companies, 
which were worth billions of pesos, were not turned over to the 
Presidential Commission on Good Government. Cory instead during her 
first months in office, permitted the transfer of these 38 companies to 
her own brother-in-law, Ricardo “Baby” Lopa. What’s worst, was the fact 
that all 38 companies were bought back by Lopa during the transfer for 
the price of only USD 227,000. The same case happened with the ownership of the Philippine Long 
Distance Company. Instead of sequestering the company for the Philippine
 government (as it was then controlled by the Marcos cronies), she 
returned the billion-dollar company to her Cojuangco nephews. She 
claimed that her nephews were illegally eased out by Mr. Marcos. The 
truth was that the Marcos cronies, whether their money were ill-gotten 
or not, paid the Cojuangcos the prevailing market-stock prices during 
the sale of equity that happened between them at the time when Marcos 
was still president.<br />

2nd is <b>Gloria Arroyo </b>she sold the spratly islands to the China. We were sold by the previous Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to China by signing an agreement of joint exploration with China state-Owned China national oil company and the Philippines without informing the congress!! Now our current govt. is having problems in asserting out claims on the Spratlys.<br />

MANILA, AUGUST 27, 2011 (TRIBUNE) By Michaela P. del Callar - The United States did not see as a threat the flourishing ties between the Philippines and China during the past administration of former President Gloria Arroyo but said the anomalous National Broadband Network (NBN) deal awarded to Chinese supplier ZTE was "typical of the deals that China reportedly uses worldwide to make friends and buy influence," a 2008 U.S. Embassy cable released yesterday by online whistleblower Wikileaks stated. <br />

Then U.S. Ambassador to Manila Kristie Kenney, in her April 28, 2008 cable labeled as "sensitive," believes the U.S. remains a reliable ally of the Philippines despite Manila's increasing engagement with Beijing as corruption and graft-tainted projects entered into by the two countries had cast a dark cloud over its intensifying relations. <br />

"Strengthened Philippine-People's Republic of China ties do not imply a weakening of our strong bonds with the Philippines," the cable said. "Recent scandals have reawakened long-held views among Filipinos that link ethnic Chinese to corrupt practices." <br />
<br />
The scuttled deal between Chinese firm Zhong Xing Telecommunication Equipment Co., Ltd., or ZTE and the Arroyo administration, is an allegedly overpriced deal that was supposed to establish a nationwide telecommunications network such as broadband Internet services, video conferencing, landline, mobile phone calls and e-mail requirements for all government agencies from the national to the local level. <br />
<br />
Arroyo, her husband Jose Miguel Arroyo and close political allies reportedly received millions of dollars worth of bribes from the Chinese firm, according to witnesses who testified before Senate hearings. <br />
<br />
"Unlike the World Bank, the IMF, and many bilateral providers of assistance here, China does not link its aid to issues such as good governance, rule of law, or respect for human rights." <br />
<br />
Thus, "public skepticism and scrutiny have underlined shortcomings in China's soft power efforts," Kenney said. . <br />
<br />
The U.S. and China have been at loggerheads in Asia, where they have tried to court support and expand security and economic clout. In recent years, the Philippines' bilateral relations with China, particularly the economic aspect of its ties, increasingly became more dynamic and vibrant than the U.S. In 2008, Kenney said bilateral trade figures surged to a record high of $30.62 billion, an almost 10-fold increase from the $3.14 billion in 2000.<br />

But the worst is <b>Aquino Family</b>, because what they are doing is just changing the name of the most popular/famous place and infrastructure here in the Philippines. An the new PENDING PETITION for changing name is <b>EDSA</b> and <b>NLEX</b> both of those are trying to change the name into cory`s name. If they are really a <b>HERO</b> and they have a lot good deeds why they still need to change the name just to remember them?. Its sound annoying when you are going the the place that the name start with Ninoy or Cory Aquino. Although what Former President Gloria did is also terrible, but for me Aquino is still worst compare to GMA.<br />

The country's Gross National Product (GNP) averaged 5 percent annually. Average income of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filipino_people">Filipino</a> family grew larger during his administration than in the preceding two decades. He pushed for the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deregulation">deregulation</a> of key industries and the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalization">liberalization</a> of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy">economy</a>. He encouraged the privatization of public entities, to include the modernization of public infrastructure through an expanded Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) law. In 2000 he declared an "all-out-war" against the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moro_Islamic_Liberation_Front">Moro Islamic Liberation Front</a> and captured its headquarters and other camps. However, allegations of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption">corruption</a> spawned an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment">impeachment</a> trial in the Senate, and in 2001 Estrada was ousted by "People Power 2" after the prosecution walked out of the impeachment court when the Senator-Judges voted "no" in the opening of the second envelope. Former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo also admitted in an interview with Nick Joaquin that he and then-Ilocos Sur Gov. <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">The last quarter of 2000 up to the first week of January 2001 was a period of political and economic uncertainty for the Philippines. On January 16, 2001, the impeachment trial has also taken a new direction. Private prosecutors walked out of the trial when pro-Estrada senators prevented the opening of an evidence (a brown envelope) containing bank records allegedly owned by President Estrada. With the walk out, the impeachment trial was not completed and the Filipinos eventually took to the street to continue the clamor for President Estrada's resignation. From January 17 to 20, 2001, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_EDSA_Revolution">hundreds of thousands</a> of Filipinos gathered at <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epifanio_de_los_Santos_Avenue">Epifanio de los Santos Avenue</a> (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDSA_(road)">EDSA</a>), the site of the original <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_Power_Revolution">People Power Revolution</a>. The clamor for a change in the presidency gained momentum as various sectors of Philippine society – professionals, students, artists, politicians, leftist and rightist groups – joined what became known as EDSA II. He reiterated that he did not resign as president and that at most, Arroyo was just serving in an acting capacity. The high court, however, voted unanimously in upholding the legitimacy of Arroyo's succession. As a consequence, Estrada no longer enjoys immunity from charges being filed against him.<br />

In the last week of April 2001, the Sandiganbayan ordered the arrest of Estrada and his son, Senator <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinggoy_Estrada">Jinggoy Estrada</a>, for plunder charges. A few days later, Estrada supporters protested his arrest, gathered at the EDSA Shrine, and staged what they called, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDSA_III">EDSA III</a> – comparing their actions to the People Power revolution of 1986 and January 2001.<br />

Thousands of protesters demanded the release of Estrada. Eventually, they also called for the ouster of Arroyo and the reinstatement of the former. On May 1, 2001, they marched towards Malacañang to force Arroyo to give in to their demands. Violence erupted when the protesters attempted to storm the presidential palace and the military and police were forced to use their arms to drive them back. Arroyo declared a state of rebellion because of the violence and prominent political personalities affiliated with Estrada were charged and arrested. The so-called EDSA III was the first serious political challenge to the Arroyo presidency.<br />

Arroyo, who earned a master's degree and doctorate in economics, made the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_Philippines">Philippine economy</a> the focus of her presidency. Annual economic growth in the Philippines averaged 4.5% during the Arroyo administration, expanding every quarter of her presidency. assault on a rebel stronghold in Mt Sinumaan, Patikul, Sulu, resulting 
in 21 enemies killed and the capture and clearing of said stronghold. He
 was also Commander of Task Force Musang when he went up against the 
Bangsa Moro Army (BMA) of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF). He 
was able to force the surrender of Top BMA Commander Hakim Sali aka 
“Commander Snake” (responsible for the massacre of Brigadier General 
Teodolfo Bautista and 33 soldiers). This led to the surrender of more 
than a hundred rebels, which led to the total clearing of the whole Sulu
 island and eventual peace in the area in the early 1980’s.<br />
<br />
But that was in battle. In the office, as Assistant Chief of 
Operation Branch in the Army, he revolutionalized the Army doctrine by 
making a study on the Special Operations Team (SOT) concept, a community
 based counter-insurgency operation, and bringing it to the attention of
 the top brass until it was finally made as the main weapon of the whole
 AFP Counter Insurgency campaign. He also organized and set up the Army 
Operation Center (AOC), which was later designated as the alternate 
National Operation Center by the President of the Republic of the 
Philippines.<br />
By the way, during the “Black Saturday Siege” of the Phil. Army 
Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio back in April 1987, he also led a handful
 of Scout Ranger students in neutralizing 50 or so soldiers who rebelled
 against the government. It was this crucial moment when no one else, 
not even high-ranking Colonels and senior officers were taking action. 
So what then Major Palparan did was he took up his arms and assembled 
trainee-Rangers and successfully defeated the uprising. His most 
effective tactic was his ability to talk hostilities down while being 
very decisive in the use of appropriate force when gravely necessary.<br />
<br />
During the height of terrorism in the National Capital Region in 
1987, simultaneous with his counter coup d’ etat missions in that time, 
Major Palparan deployed troops in strategic locations to neutralize 
rebel movements. It was noted that the killings of 
police/military/government officials in the NCR have stopped. Rallies 
and labor unrest have slowed down. He monitored rebel movements so that 
Coup attempts have also ceased for the whole year of 1988 and until 
December 1989.<br />
Then Lieutenant Colonel Palparan also led the clearing of the 
provinces of Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Zambales, Mountain 
Province and Ifugao from the influence of Communist Insurgents. There, 
he recovered countless High-powered weapons and captured several rebels,
 along with their hearts and minds. He was well-known by his enemies 
because he always helped those he captured to get back to a productive 
life.<br />
<br />
Now, we go to his achievements in the international scene.
Many do not know this but during the great movement of nations to 
aide East Timor, Colonel Palparan was the commander of the Philippine 
Contingent. There, the Philippines was recognized globally because of 
the significant help that our force contributed, both to foster 
productive relationships with the locals and in keeping the security of 
the nation.<br />
Did you know that he was made commander of the Philippine Contingent 
twice – but in Iraq this time? It was him who headed the Philippine 
forces that rescued the 11 Filipino truck drivers that got caught in a 
skirmish against Al-Qaida terrorists. One of whom was Angelo Dela Cruz. 
The other 10 got rescued but a confused Angelo was snagged by the 
terrorists. Brigadier General Palparan never stopped there and headed 
negotiations that resulted to the release of Angelo.<br />
In Samar and Leyte – Region 8 in general, Central Luzon and Mindoro, 
his achievements cannot be contained in this narrative unless you’re 
willing to spend the whole day here. But it is safe to say that the 
rebels who surrendered to him began to increase exponentially. And 
contrary to the ridiculously popular belief, those rebels surrendered to
 him not because they were scared of him but specifically because he 
proved to be a true friend…as long as the surrenderee would permanently 
denounce his/her violent ways, of course.<br />
<br />
An example happens to be an NPA couple: During a raiding operation in
 Laguna, several NPA fighters were captured on-site, including one 
“Ka-Jojo”, who happens to be the husband of a certain “Ka-Michelle”. It 
wasn’t long ‘til Ka-Michelle learned from her brothers-in-arms that her 
husband was tortured and killed by that granddaddy of all butchers, Gen.
 Palparan. After about 2 months, Michelle saw two men riding a 
motorcycle downhill, laughing. One looked like her husband but only a 
little bigger and fatter. She soon learned that it was because of the 
“Butcher”, General Palparan, that her husband was now living a stable 
life away from violence. She was pregnant and decided to slowly slip out
 of her rebel camp. Soon after, General Palparan arranged for Michelle 
to be admitted in Fort Bonifacio General Hospital for the delivery of 
the couple’s baby. They are now happily living in Manila with their 9 
y/o daughter.<br />
<br />
So you see, if you were one of the communists, you’d definitely hate 
Cong. Palparan’s guts. For one, his track record has always been against
 terrorists and thus, against Communist rebels. But more importantly, 
Communists would hate him because his tactics get right down to 
business. But he also allows some lenience so that those who would 
denounce violence still had a second chance to start a better life. The 
NPA’s, along with their masquerading groups like Bayan Muna, Gabriella, 
Anak-pawis and other activists are not really being defeated by the 
ambushes and raids in the jungles, but by the more peaceful alternatives
 offered to them by Cong. Palparan even up to this day.<br />
